Pretty rare, I have 2 but I've only seen a couple of others

I've got on in my '87 SWB V10.

An '83 K30 I'm looking at buying soon has one also.

These columns are out there. Just mainly in nicer trimmed trucks, like Silverados, etc.

column

Where it necks down to the steering wheel might be a weak point, better not yank on it to hard:D .

My truck has a column like that. Had AC and power everything when new but was a 465/208.

I've seen quite a few, never really thought of them as rare. I guess there about as rare as a manual silverado...

'Full load' K5's and trucks with manual tranny's were pretty rare. I'd guess that well over 90% of the optioned out truck got the auto tranny. Until I found mine I hadn't seen another loaded K5 with a manual tranny before. Of course nothing on my truck is orginal anymore so it doesn't really matter, and I don't have any plans to do a full-on concours resto either...:D

A few other rare combo's i know of are any of the K5's with 3 on the tree, and the few that got the A833 OD 4 speed. I know both exist but have never seen either one in person. I have seen one pick-up with the A833, but it was 2WD...

I've also never seen the factory soft top, although I've seen mention of them in the GM literature.

my buddy has an 84 stepside with the O/D 4-spped ....the only one I've ever seen it's a 4x4. the A833 was most used buy Chrysler there are 2 versions of it the a 4th gear direct and a 4th gear over I've had a couple of early 80's Dodge pickups with the "Leanin Tower of Power" and the overdrive A833 the 4th gear direct A833 was one of the trannys put in the Mopar "muscle cars in the late 60's early 70's

Whats even more rare is this '83 K30 Silverado I'm eyeballing to buy. Its the normal equipped K30: 454, 465, 205, 60, 14, 4.10, etc. But its not the drivetrain thats making it rare. Its the Silverado trim. It goes like this:

No A/C,
No power windows,
No power locks.

Just like a basic Custom Deluxe but with all the nice trims like carpet, headliner, etc.
I've got my lift, tires, and hardware all ready to install. Just waiting on selling this house and a few other stuff first before buying it.

Now how rare is this truck?

About as rare as my "yellowK20" Custom Deluxe With A/C, Cruise, power windows,Intermittent wipers, cloth seat, carpet, Tilt, 4-spd,4.56's and 56" rear springs, and dual shock front(which is the only one I've ever seen in this year) the only thing it's missing is a headliner and the "Stainless" trim and Door grab handles
