So i have a 86 with the original suspension and 31" tires. I want to put a 4" with 33's on but still want to park in the garage. I have about 8 inches till I cant do that, so i was just curious, when you guys have put a 4" lift on, did you see a true 4" gain or was it 3" or 5" or ??? My original springs are kinda saggy so I am wondering if i will actually see 5" of gain?

what has been your experience? THX

i run a 4 inch lift with 35 inch tires and i can "squeek" under a 7 foot drive through over hang

no i haven't cut anything. and yes i rub off road, but not always and its minor..when the front axle gets flexed pretty good, the front tires rub on the lower front of the fender..i live with it..only a few minor surface scars on the tread of the tire..all though i just installed ord swaybar disconects, haven't used them yet, but i imagine i will rub more now.

i put a 4" lift with 33" tires and i can get into a 7ft garage with a few inches left over, its damn close though.

4 inches and 33's and just fit with a little to spare .

Noticed the "new" 78 without any drivetrain on 2.5 inches with 35's sits higher and it fit too
