The neighbor kid bought a 98 1500 with LT285 75R16s and the speedometer is off, he's wondering how to calibrated. I found some info about a 92 but no luck on the newer model. Any help would be much appreciated.

Computer can be reprogrammed/tuned or there are in line programmers specifically for tire size.

Yeah I looked on u-tube and found some of that information. Thanks

Why even mess with it? App for phones with give MPH...
Probably wants the odometer to be correct. OCD, it's best when everything works correctly. He just figured out he has bigger fish to fry, 4.3, bigger tires and factory gears doesn't move a full size very well. :dunno:

Actually the kids Dad picked out the truck, kid gets his license end of this month.

I can not find the in line one I used on my moms 34 chevy. 4.3, TBI, 700r4, ford 9". Got it dead on with GPS.

I'm 20 years behind on this stuff, never needed it. My 03 diesel and work sedan always run, the wife car is usually under hundred thousand miles. I'm in the process of parting out a 98 vortex 350 2500, lots of wires.

Our son just got a blue driver OBD scanner, cheap and simple.

Just FYI on 89-91. Figured someone can use it.

OBD 1 came with a series of resistors in the instrument panel.

The factory would blow out certain ones depending on gear ratio and tire size.

My. 89 wold read 95 at 60 when I regeared it from 3.42 to 4.10.

A buddy of mine was afraid to follow us on our bikes in it, said he wasn't going 120 anywhere!

Full how to.

I haven't heard anything from him, thinking he figured it out.
