Okay went an vacation and when I got back I drove 14mi. To work. When I left work about a 1/4 might. Down the road 3 the first my studs had snapped off and I felt the wobble fortunately and without issue. I was able to tighten the remaining 3 studs and limp home and buy the parts on the way home. Then after removing the wheel I realized I've never swapped the studs on a 4wd vehicle. What do I do from here? :doah:

You have to pull the entire hub assembly and install the from inside the rotor. Not fun.
Part of the reason I went with my brake conversion.

ETA: might as well replace ALL of them while it's off. Minimal extra cost for a huge piece of mind.

Not really a big deal. Its the same work as doing wheel bearings except you dont have to change the wheel bearings. Might as well make an afternoon out of it and change the wheel bearings on both sides while you're at it if you dont know when they were done last.

You unbolt the hub/rotor and punch the olds ones out and punch the new ones in.

Yep, no biggie, do what Stomis said.

One time, when I had 1/2 ton, all 6 broke of in an intersection break off and a 38" tire went into a bank!!!!!! During business hrs.!!!!!!! Nobody got hurt. But it was a real PITA!!!!

Just as mentioned above for changing them out, hardest part will be getting the lock nuts out of the hub!
Just make sure you get the correct studs...head diameter, spline size, spline length, overall length, and thread size.

Well did the studs and repacked the bearings. Apparently from the 38's hanging while the truck was on the lift, stretched the break lines (apparently the lines were never changed when the 9" lift was installed.) so now I plan to install some stainless steel lines. Any suggestions? :waytogo:

Tip on changing studs. Throw the new ones in a freezer for a day before if possible, then take out as needed, works great!
