I've got plenty of sharp sheetmetal on my rig and I'd kinda like to keep from myself or other people being cut by it. I did fold some of it over in places I really need to be touching often (like over the rear fenders for toolbox access) but I'd like something better.

I'm thinking something along the line of plastic that can "sandwich" the metal but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for via google.

Short of the real/professional sheetmetal tools, what are my options?

Use door edging. It's that plastic stiff that you push over the edge of a door, has some adhesive inside. At least it's cheap...

Check out http://www.mcmaster.com/, They will have exactly what you need.

I bought some thick Vinal Edge trim with a metal inner core that has tangs to bite what you put it on. I used it on my 89' burb where the top of the rad core support has that sharp edge you allways have to climb on and over. It worked great. I will get a pic up asap.

I also picked up this rubber edge trip from them to use on the Tuffy drawer I bought off my friend.

i ended up using some of that foam pipe installation when i cut the roof off my s10. it worked fine. only problem was the trees started to tear it off

rivet some 1/8th urathane board in place. Then just use a body saw to contour to how you like. Use a flap wheel to finish it off to a smooth surface.

Just round the edge with a flapper wheel on the 4" grinder. Just about everything that we have done in the last 6 years has had this treatment and it seems to work just fine.

Or split vacum line.
