how to drill holes in the frame

A good quality bit with cutting fluid goes right through frames. Just keep them cool and spin them slow and you won't destroy them. I have fallen in love with my deep step Uni-bit for drilling holes in metals up to 1/4" thick.

I'm a big fan of the Uni-Bit myself.... :waytogo:

Although, there is also something to be said for being able to cut a precise hole > 1/2" without doing a bunch of drillbit changes. It seems like I always start with an 1/8" bit, then step up to 1/4", then again to 1/2".....etc. etc. Being able to go straight to the final hole size cleanly would certainly be nice.

That is what I love about the Unibit. I start with an 1/8" hole so I don't burn the tip up on the unibit and then go to town. It eats metal alot faster then normal drillbits do and it doesn't always try and lockup as it is clearing out the last of the metal. I have the Titanium coated one from Irwin and it has taken quite a beating. I am going to order the same bit from Norseman soon though as the Irwin bit is finally starting to get a little dull.

Center drills are invaluable... harder then a whores heart and they don't wander. I've just buy a center drill and finish it with the desired size. It's countersunk so you don't need to worry about pilot holes.
