I want to take off the door gaskets to clear and repaint the door frame, but the dashboard is pinching them so I can't get the gaskets off. How can I drop the dash or otherwise get access to the gaskets/door frame?

gauge bezel off .

open both doors 1 screw per side center of dash pad .

few screws under lip across the dash pad just above the cig /ash tray and glove box .

then pop loose and out VARY easy as it can bend an break .

That last line is extremely important. The re-poped dash pads don't fit for crap so if your original one is in titties shape then take care of it.

same with Mutt's, more cracks than an 88 yr old hooker......

you don't need to pull the dash to get the door weatherstrip out... just pull all the plastic surround trim pieces... A-pillar, funky L one next to the pad, kick panel, yada...

I pulled everything off I could get, but that A-pillar one looks like I need the dash off, then the trim, then the A-pillar trim...yes?

pretty sure i was able to snake all the trims off without removing the pad.. in a certain order cuz they overlap... usually the upper a-pillar one once unscrewed, you pull it away from the visor area first, than down by the window comes out...
