How to Get Silicone Off of Paint

Need a new windshield so I had to take off my sun visor thingy. Before I patch the holes in the roof I need to get the silicone off the paint around the holes. Any ideas for quick removal?

Maybe pull off what you can with fingers or tweezers, and rub the rest with rubbing compound or wax. Some silicones come off easy like orange or blue, black or white as well as clear seem to stick like crazy /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
