I am trying to find pic's of a 205 and 208 t-case. Anyone know of any sites that have pic's or can tell you what to look for?
Thanks for the help.

Most t-cases have the # on the rear of the case on a little circle piece of metal and it says what it is right in the middle of that piece.

208 and 241's are aluminum , and the 205 is cast and looks like

Best guess- what would a 75 K5 have for a transfer case? It is an hour away so I can't really go look. I found some info. that says I have a 203- but I can put it in 2wd. It has Warn Premium Hubs in it so perhaps I am just unlocking the front end? I would have sworn it has a 208- did those ever come in K5s?

208's did come in k5's but not till much later. More than likely you have a 203 in that year. Another good way to identify a 205 is that three bolt round cover right in the middle back side on the picture above.

So if I have a NP203- how hard would it be to put a 205 in? Just a longer drive shafts?

When I put a 205 in my 74 K20 plow truck in place of the 203,the rear shaft fit ok(except the transfer case had a half ton U-joint flange,my 3/4 ton u joint was larger, had to get another rear yoke)but the front shaft was way too long--I searched the boneyards and came up with a shaft from a 69 K10 that was very short, fit perfect--or I could have cut the old one down and welded the yoke back on,something I now have to do,since that short shaft wasnt the greatest shape, the spines are real sloppy.I have a brand new shaft that is longer waiting to go in after its shortened, but I have been debating whether to part out the truck, because its so rotted--decisions,decisions-- /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

the EASIEST way to tell....is to look at the shift pattern
