I'm looking to replace my 350. I've found one that looks similar (center both valve covers and four bolt main). Can I assume this will work for my 89 Blazer.

as long as it you have all the accesories off of your old motor it will work
all 350's are pretty much the same just accessorie holes maybe different. mstly on older models also run the numbers and make sure it's a 350 all small block chevy's are externaly identical

I am assuming you mean "center BOLT" valve covers. Yes if it is a center bolt valve cover head/engine and out of a TBI truck it should work.
It is not exactly the same as your 89 Blazer engine. Blazers got the light duty 2 bolt main 210 HP engine.
The 4 bolt main is the HD engine. It has lower compession and 195 HP. Both have the same torque.
You need to make sure it is a TBI engine. Vortec engines are also center bolt valve cover heads.. Your TBI intake manifold will not bolt to vortec.

:D@ Bolt. Yes thats it, forgive the typo. The intake manifold is not on this motor, so I will have to find one like mine to test fit it on the motor.

Just got some more info on the new motor. It's from a 1985 Chevy 1 Ton Truck. Is it likely that a 1985 1 ton would have been a TBI?
