how to measure leaf springs....

I took the 13" front leafs off.... put superlift softride front 6" leafs
any help... just curious... a bud was over and I told him my rear 12" leafs were still on the truck.. and we were looking and the math isnt adding up anymore???????
not trying to argue with you but by your own admission you say the math is not adding up.
if you put 6" lift on the front and still had 12" on the rear, I believe your rear would be sitting a lot higher than it is in the pics.
I have 6" and 8" rear lift springs at home, I can measure the arch if you would like but it will be a couple of hours before I am off work.
Sure whenever. Id love to know. I agree with you hrnce the stumpedness. Would love to find a stock and measure it...
Im not argueing..just confused. Many years ago lifted then sat in woods for 7yrs.. i now do my own work or research first. Back in 1997 internet wasnt whatit is today.

Out of curiosity what do those front springs measure to the bottom of the pack loaded? Thanks

For reference regarding this subject I have Tough Country 4 inch lift REAR springs on my 74 K5. They measure 8” to the bottom of spring pack including the overload to a string tied from center of eye bolt to eye bolt on 52” springs.

I'll try to get the measurements and pictures today. I wasn't able to leave work until after 6 last night, got home at 7 and supper was ready. then it was dark and cold. Cold at least for us here in Texas, down in the 30's. sure you northern guys have already seen those temps. just a front though and should be warming up.

Free arch (i.e. springs not installed) doesn't tell you much, because you don't know how much the springs will compress under the weight of the truck. Which depends on the weight of the truck, spring construction, etc.

Right, just what I had laying around. I will tell you the Tuff Country springs are taller but I can push them down somewhat with my hand. Not so much on the Superlift

next is my 91 Blazer with an ORD shackle flip,DIY shackles and Tuff Country springs

4 inch Tough Country springs from flat portion top of stock spring plate and from top of axle tube with a 1” zero rate. 74 K5 1/2 ton.
Also the front springs from top of axle tube. Unknown springs.
