Anybody have any suggestions on how to move the axle forward about 5 inches on a 1971 K5 Blazer?

You're planning to extend the frame, right? A 1st gen has pretty short leafs, but you could probably get an inch from drilling a new hole in the springs or getting custom ones. Then a "zero-rate" could do another inch. Beyond that, you are moving spring hangers. What are you planning for steering?

biggest issue is steering, you will have to relocate the box which in turn will make it needed to relocate other stuff.

Just alot more than just moving hangers around

You can get about 2.5" before sway bar, steering, d-shaft all become a prob.

I'm gonna add the "you might as well do 52's now too" comment.

Why 5"? wheelbase? Will 2.5" front and 2.5" rear get you what you want?
