How to Move Moderate size toolbox?

dude, it was one of those WAY scary moments.. I nearly chopped my finger off getting it out... it involved sliding it out on moving blankets, bunch of old tires, lots of coffee, and a praver!

it was only a 2 bank, but it still weighs like 600 lbs empty... damn top box is almost as heavy...

i was thinking maybe renting a penkse type moving truck, the last one i used had a lift gate. dont know the weight rating tho. but would def talk to tool man first.

better get a big truck. i moved mine a a xxx brand 1ton box truck and had 3/4" hight clearence from top of box to door jamb opening. almost didnt happen.

and thay dont give you much on the walls to strap to. as the walls are real flimsy .

and mine straped to 1 wall for 550 miles SUCKED huge masive lean to the left and pulled to the right. dam lucky dot didnt get my a$$ .

When boxes got to heavy for the lift gate we just had 4 or 5 guys lift up on it also. Another time we used 2 tool trucks back to back and with the box on 1/2 of each lift gate. If you're tool guy can't figure out a way to help you out, time to start looking for a new one

Going to say here too, call a towing company. I drove flatbed tow trucks for awhile here in Phoenix, and had more than a few of these calls to move tool boxes. Not difficult, and really doesn't cost that much to get it moved safely and damage-free...

yup, my buddy normally did it for me for $60 on his roll-off.. about 30 miles round trip.. heck, it woulda been worth a c-note..

but he was unavailable the last time, thus me almost killing myself moving it in the K5...

I've moved mine and a few others for guys on my car trailer. It has a winch on it and I built special ramps just wide enough for the casters. I even made up special chains for hooking into the casters. I used to work at a shop that had a wrecker service too and my Snap On dealer at the time hired us to move his sold boxes and his customers boxes when needed and I moved several of them on our rollback.
