How to read D60 date code?

Just out of curiosity what does this date code mean? It seems pretty obvious that it is an '84, but what do the other numbers mean?

I believe thats just the date of manufature.

EDIT: There should be two stampings on the tube. The one closest to the center section is the date, and the one to the right of it is the bill of material.

6/13/84 would make sense, just not sure what the extra 3 is for (3rd shift?).

The BOM code is 610159-1 TCA which appears to be a '82-'87 K30 axle with 4.10 gears.

That 3 could possibly mean third shift, yeah...
