I have already pulled 1” thick chunks of bondo out of this quarter panel. Luckily it’s not hiding rust, just a massive dent. I took as much off with a chisel (as comfortably as I was trying) but now I really want to remove the rest. I don’t see saving this corner but I think pulling some of the dent out for now would look better. Whatcha think?

Let an old school body man straighten the panel....it's past scraping+ re mudding the panels

I am not ready for anyone to work this panel. I’m just looking to push it out some from the back and maybe play with a dent puller/pin welder thing. I need the bondo off first. If that means a flap disc, so be it. I have also been on the lookout for a wagon someone is parting out. It’s tough though, people want gold for totaled cars. This dent goes into the body line and might be best to just replace the area. Not sure yet. No money for any of that right now anyway. :D

I suspected it did....;.But, as you rough out the dent..you stretch etc...the metal in ways a professional shop wouldn't ...

You, will most likely do more damage than good.

I used wire wheel and other than needing a respirator to keep from breathing the dust it worked well. Seemed to get it out of the cracks and divots better than the flap disc and heated the panel less.

I have a wire wheel for the grinder. I will try a coated wheel first cause those wire wheels vibrate somethin fierce.

And a mask during a windy :waytogo:

Might be a good candidate for inflatable ball bodywork. Buy a set of kids sports balls. Deflate hook a compressor up with an inflation needle to the ball and put it behind the dent and inflate to push the dent out. Take your time and move the ball around and experiment with the different types, football, basketball etc.

This trick works great for getting a dent out of doors when you can’t get tools in between the crash bar.

Sandblasting warps panels quite easily...

Wow, it would be a shame to warp this pristine sheet metal.
They all have adjustable pressure settings and various media available.

I think we all know the final solution is cut and weld.

A trick we used to remove lots of bondo was heat. Propane torch is what we used and then you can scrape it off.
I don't know if all bondo is the same so try a small spot first.
