I am replacing the power window motor on the drivers side door. I have the window up and unhooked from the regulator. The regulator is unbolted from the door.

What is the best way of replacing the motor from here? I thought I could get the regulator and motor out in one piece, but it seems too big for the hole in the door. Anyone have an easy trick I haven't thought of?

I got the motor up to where I could see it through the big hole in the door panel, then rotated it as close to 90 degrees as possible, bringing the motor out of the hole. Had to have a friend hold it while I got after the motor.

When I did mine, I took the wing window out, then the door glass, then the regulator. Made things real easy.

When I did mine I duct taped the window up, used my electric grinder with a cut off wheel, cut a hole to get the motor unbolted and removed. Removed window glass (both) then pulled the track. I have the plastic upper and carpeted lower so it doesn't really matter as long as once it's all back together it looks like factory!
