On my 205, I can't get the shift rails out. I'm trying to replace the seals at the shift rails. I thought I done everything that's needed to pull them out, but it seems like it is binding. Here's what I've done. I removed the detent balls, knocked out the pin that holds the rail to the fork and that's pretty much it. It slides in and out easily on the fork (I'm looking at it through the hole that was plugged), but right at the end, it get's caught up, seems like something on the end is getting caught up on the fork or something?? Am I missing a step?? Thanks for any help.

make sure that its shifted to 4 wheel high on both rails then the rail for the rear shifter will come out the ft of the case

Boss, are just rebuilding it or are you going to twin stick while you are in there. That is one sweet truck you have. I hope I get to wheel with you again some time.

Bear,

Thanks for the compliments

For now, I'm just rebuilding it. Got an overhaul kit for it, so I pretty much replaced all that's necessary. I really like to do the Twin stick, but probably not for now. Not sure how I'm going get 3 shifters in there (doubler). We'll see I guess.
I probably won't be able to make the next Tellico run, In May I believe right? I will try, but I usually have a lot of side jobs during that time that requires a lot of weekend hours, etc. But definately the next Dixie Run for sure! But, you can always swing up this way for some wheelin

Oh, I got the short rail out, but couldn't get the long rail out. So, I basically, just tore out the seal on that end with a screw driver, and just replaced it. Worked easy.

Gald to hear you got it. With the twin stick it would just look more like a tractor. Back when I lived in NC I had a bud w/ a CJ had a 4 spd, a twin sticked case, and a Saturn (IIRC) O/D. It looked like it belonged on a farm!
