Ok so this may be a stupid question, but I can't figure out how to get the wiper blades off the arm to change them. Looks like the arm goes straight thru and comes out the other side, I don't see anything to push or pull to get it off.

Is there a trick?
Do I just yank them away from the arm?

Thanks!

Lol much thanks, knew it was a dumb question hahah.
Had to change these things, first blizzard in a long time, of course mine break off halfway down the blade midway to work.

no dumb questions, only dumb mistakes!

there is two styles one you pry up and one that slides out. if it slides push it out and lift the wiper arm up and kinda wiggle it side to side and it breaks loose any rust or debris and should come off reall easy.

I have a special nack for braking the wiper blade off of the arm no matter what I do. Damn things.

Just be very careful of the windsheild!--I put a thick rag under the wiper arms before I go prying on them now--

I used to HATE changing wiper blades when I worked in parts stores!--our bosses thought it good policy to offer "free installation",and every rainy/snowy miserable day someone would want us to put them on for them (it was OK if it were a sexy blonde, but most of the time it was a clueless guy who knew nothing about cars!)..you had to try and figure out the numerous different types of wiper arm to blade retaining methods, and not bust anything, and do it as quickly as possible, before the boss sticks his head out the door and screams at you to hurry up and answer that dam phone,etc....oh what a joy that was.....

Then one day a co-worker who wasn't very mechanically inclined himself, struggled with a stubborn wiper blade on a ladys Lincoln,,and when he finally got it to release it came off suddenly, and he let the wiper arm spring back and snap against the winsheild--which promptly shatterd in the frigid weather!..the woman got VERY angry and had her lawyer on the phone in less than 60 seconds!..after that day our boss finally smartened up ,amd said "NO MORE "fixing" cars in the parking lot!"--"If they want wipers installed, send them next door to Kelly's garage and let them PAY them to do it!"--we later found out it was actually not legal for us to work on customers cars without a permit from the town too---!..

Sorry if I'm not much help--best place to practice taking wipers off (or any other parts!) is a junkyard!..then if you bust something you just walk away and hope no one sees what you did..:D.....

Hahah that is insane, never thot about the arm slinging back and breaking the windshield..

I got them off pretty successfully after I saw the springs I was told about, stabbed myself in the hand with a slipped screwdriver, both otherwise it went well and now I can see out my windshield, mostly, lol.
