Elementary question but damned if I can find the answer lol-
When determining if your water pump, etc is clockwise or counter clockwise- do you determine it from looking at rotation from in front of the truck, or from the drivers seat?
I'm assuming it's from in front of the truck, just want to make sure before I start ordering parts.

(87 k5 350 tbi, aftermarket crate, has both V and serpentine belts)

Someone that owns one can shoot me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that all serpentine is CCW. That's how you tell.

Check the fan blades, it'll give you the direction you seek...

FYI - pumps for serpentine systems are usually are depicted as reverse rotation.

Right, but from the viewpoint in front of the truck, or the drivers seat? From one view point it's clockwise, from the other it's reversed/ counter clockwise.
I'd assume it's looking at it from the front of the truck, but I can't find that said anywhere.
Even my mechanic buddy scratched his head and said "good question".

Fwiw- the rain stopped so I could check- alternator belt is the only serpentine, the rest are v belts. Dunno if that's relevant at all.

It's what I call semi-serpentine then lol. Not really serpentine at all, since there are no idlers or tensioners. It's just a v-ribbed belt. AFAIK that will still be standard rotation.

Aka fat boy belt....:D

To answer the original question:
Looking at the face of the motor. Open hood look at motor. Top going right/drivers side(clockwise). Top going left/passenger side (counter clockwise).
