I have been looking for a while for a duramax to tow my project around. I found one for a hell of a deal and want to know before i go see it what to look for and how to test it to ensure I'm not buying junk. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I know this is an old thread but wanted to answer it any way . You look for diesel in the oil . Oil pressure . Warm it up and see where the pressure is at . Should be over 50 lbs running at 1500 rpms . Then check the bottom front for oil . Could have over flowed oil from fuel in diesel

my buddy got a 03 and drove it home 550 miles . no problems sounded great real clean . . . untill he check the oil level again . was perfect at the dealer and diesel black color . got home and was 1gal over full and yellowish .
well good thing he can do his own work . 8 injectors hard lines . adjust all valves when open . thankfully she didnt get hurt with the fuel in it . been doing great now for over a year .
you guys are awesome for the help. I bought an 06' and had it throughly checked before purchase. I am currently changing all the fluids anyway. Thank you for your help!
