I have searched but can't find any info on timing the drivshaft.Isn't there a certain way it's supposed to go in?I have an 88 K5 700r4/208.

only time you need to time it is if you remove the slip on a fixed style shaft. your stock rear just pop in. the front would be a fixed style. but if you didnt remove the slip from the shaft then goo to go. if needed just line up the ujoint caps so that the joints flex the same on both ends .

It's a slip yoke, just unbolt the rear and slide out.All I should have to do is slide it in and line up the joint caps then right?

correct. no master spline. if you are changing ujoints mark the slip and shaft to get them back the same. possible vibration problem. had it happen one time.

Well,it was pulled without marking before,I just bought a new pinion yok, slip yoke and u joints and had the driveline balanced and he painted it so there are no marks what so ever.
