I found a 1983 Suburban Half Ton that is also a dually. The vehicle is in not bad shape and it runs and drives however the owner said its best to have it towed from Sherman Texas to New Orleans Louisiana.

Guy wants 1500 for it.

It has a carburated 454 with a turbo400 transmission.

I was wondering how if I can rent a 3 quarter ton truck and trailer if I fly to Dallas to get the vehicle .

And wonder how I can hookup the vehicle to the trailer since its a dually. Vehicle is a rear wheel drive

Ktmoutfront is right, it's gonna cost a lot to fly out and rent a trailer big enough. I haven't seen any dually friendly UHauls so that means where you rent the trailer from the trailer goes back to. Have you looked into Penske?

Ship a tool box to a local ups or FedEx store. Fly out and drive it back. As long as the brakes work. Drive it.
Ok. I'll call or text and ask the guy again about what's exactly wrong with it.

He said something about the transmission although he did said the truck "runs and drives"

How about a vehicle transport company at low price?

Update: I looked into Pender and they have unlimited miles with a 16 inch truck and trailer. Over 200 something dollars total.

Also I talked to the guy today that I got the vehicle from said that he didn't drive it much. That he got it from Atlanta on a flatbed, drove it off and parked off and that was it.

Just need sitting some and he said that there is a transmission leak but the question is how big or small is the leak? And the transmission is a turbo 400 by the way

Plus the guy said it needs new tires in the back because the tires are somewhat "bald"

Drive it and keep filling with tranny fluid and take the two “spare” tires off the rear and use them as needed. :D

Heck, if you have something heavy enough to tow it with, mount a tow-bar on the front, disconnect the driveshaft from the rear end, tie it up out of the way, and just flat tow it.
Just make sure the steering wheel is unlocked.

I have used a 5000 lb tow bar to tow many trucks home. Disconnect the driveline, add tow lights, and unlock the steering. When you turn it takes a bit wider turns so be careful to never get into a dead end street.

Ill post pictures up on another thread of the vehicle later today.
