Sooo it seems unsafe to me.. what do u guys think? Am i stupid to drive this?? Should i change this to spare tire duty?

Put a tube in it and call it a spare?

Technically it's ok, ONLY if you have not cut down to the steel threads inside. If it's just a surface scar it should be fine. If you cut to the threads, it's no longer safe for normal duty, so put some rubber cement in there and make it a spare.

Napa sells various size patches for radials, bias, tube, and tubeless use. They also sell cans of vulcanizing compound (much better than cement).

If the cords are undamaged it should be fine. The cords are the structure of the tire. DOT allows repairing holes up to 1/4" in diameter in some applications, but must be vulcanized and done by a certified technician...in other words, you could safely fix a lot of that kind of stuff.

But, a Patch will through you wicked out of balance (even for a swamper) and tubes are a pain. It's hard to tell what you should do without looking inside the tire. You should pull it off the rim and post pictures/go from there.

tire shops will not repair sidewall tears because of he lateral stability of the tire and blowout occurences.i had to do the repair myself and hope that it held.i just repaired it and used it as a trail spare after that.would not drive it on the road like that.
