How wide a tire can fit on 9.75\" hummer rim?

Well there's the question , how wide a tire can i fit on my 9.75" hummer rims? I'm thinking 14.5" is the most? but maybe the taller you go the wider you can fit... I'am just tossing the idea around of running 18" wide boggers out back.

i've heard of people running 44s on a 10" rim but the most i'd do is like 39.5x16 or something like that. i know there's a tire that's 16" wide. that'd be the limit if it were me.

read the manufacturers recommended rim size for the tires you want to run.
some are unusual spec,
the 38.5/16/16.5 swamp RRS is 9.75 as embossed on the sidewall

Hummer rims as in inner/outer beadlocks and run flats right? If so, I don't see the problem running a 18.5'' wide tire on them, I have seen some people run 42x15 on 8'' wide /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif beadlocks with no problems. With the inner and outer beadlocks you should not have any problems with the bead popping off once they are mounted. Are you talking about 39.5'' or 44''? Just my $.02

I agree with Blazinaire! I've got two sets and em going to run the widest tire I can find on them!!!!

Thanks guys. yeah i was thinking about running 39.5" boggers (which are 18" wide) and 39.5" (of course) swampers out front. i wish i could run 44's or even 42's but up here in new hampshire you can't have the frame any higher than 30" from the ground. so if i lower the truck from 6" suspension to a 4" lift, do some spring perch moving, lots of fender cutting, and maybe, MAYBE , a body lift i can toss under some 39.5" and still drive around.

as far as a place to get hummer rims i just lucked out and saw a set in the want ads, 5 for 550 bucks , not to bad a deal.. do some searching on the web i'am sure there around. good luck.

let us know how the 44's run when you get them on your rims?
