so i am prepping "gredda" to spray the interior with bedliner

i assume the opening on the upper right of the passenger side floor panel is some sort of air intake for the A/C - please explain..it had a housing, a flap, and what i assume was a vacuum or somethin to open it.

and how should i treat this when spraying? cover the hole obviously, but put it back on when done? even the plastic panel? same question with the lower doors, what do those vents do, and how to i handle spraying the lowers part of the doors.

hell, let me know what yall did about the rear speaker wires, seatbelt wires, rear lights wires, and transfer case selector light wire too after spraying

I had my interior Line Xd. Any hole you dont want, as in, wont be putting anything back in will get covered up with the Line X, its THICK.

I masked off the Vents for them to Line X and then after wards I did my own BedLiner to paint over the white part.

I had mine done at the Line X dealer, they told me to mark each hole that I wanted FILLED or Wanted to KEEP. Like I said, the stuff is thick enuff, itll fill in the hole.

After I sprayed my own bedliner from a can over the vents, it actually looks really good. Even though its not the same texture, you cant tell it. When I sprayed it with the bedliner from a can< I made sure to spray from the backside of the vents, so I wasnt spraying up inside the door or clogging up the vent holes.

Here is the area you were talking about. I just told them I want it up to the firewall. By the looks of it, they covered the opening with something. Cause there is no LIne X inside the panel

Here is what I did with the vacuum aculator and all that. I just cut the panel.

1) Speaker wires - ran them thru the firewall and under the truck and back up by the roll bar

2) same with rear doom lights, run thru firewall and then back up thru floor

3) Trans case wires, put them in wire loom and just have them on top of the trans tunnel. If you make it look neat and straight, it doesnt look bad, get black loom with black Line Xd floor, you cant really tell.

Ive also got some heavy duty industrial mat down for Floor mats, you could run wires under something like this.

Yo Mix: How thick is it and how thick can they get? I'm thinking something stupid thick like 1/4" would be nice.

Its pretty thick, never measured it, but doubt its close to 1/4" Im guessing they have to a couple layers, not sure how that would work or the expense. I say mine is thick in comparison to paint.

My Rhino Liner was done like badmix's LineX. They pretty much told me to just mark which bolts I wanted to keep open. The small screw holes just got coated over and the big ones I think they put a piece of tape over and then sprayed right over it. Worked great.
I removed the bottom door panels and they shot some bedliner there just for looks. I also removed the trim rings on those vents by the kick panels and they sprayed right up to the edges.

My wires are all just hanging out on the floor...need to do something with these...been thinking some conduit or something.

so after spraying (im gonna do it myself) did you put things like floor trim (door area) and things like that back down? what all can be removed? I pulled the panel that sits "under" the hood release, and the opposite side that covers that vent return. Is that neccessary to put all that back over it? my AC works, and I am in TX so I would like to keep it that way. what does that opening with the flap do anyway?

If it's the big oval shaped door/flap things on each side above the kick panels it's a fresh air duct. On the non-AC trucks you can pull a lever and they open and you get fresh air blowing through below the dash. On the AC trucks I believe it's just the fresh air duct for the factory HVAC system.

I put the trim back on those ducts. Just sank the screws in and they bit fine. Pretty much any area that got Rhino Lined I tossed the trim and other similar stuff. No sill plates or anything. I have a build thread in the Garage and you can see some of the pics there.

thanks man...thats good info.

basically, I am just reading all your old posts now...you seem to have already asked my questions in some way shape or form.

I just wish there werent so many opinions on the bedliner/paint/etc field. I am driving myself crazy changing my mind every other day.

Welcome. There's definitely 3 grades of paint/bedliner/etc (just like most anything else).

Cheap/good/best. Sometimes the results differ from the price but not always.
