I decided that I need a towrig and trailer to take the howdiymobile wheeling, so I started saving up and put the truck upgrades off for awhile.

First up:Not for sale anymore This looks like an awesome deal, I imagine it is kind of rough but at $3000 that kind of outweighs the negatives. Paint and interior could be done pretty cheaply.

These 3500hd's have a solid front axle, and a huge frame, it has to be atleast 10" tall. This one is 2wd so it just has a beam for a front axle.

102k miles 6.5 turbo diesel. Not a great engine but should have some life left in it. Definately planning on a cummins swap down the road if I end up getting it

I would definitely ditch the utility bed, I want to run a shorted bed. This probably has a C&C 14 bolt so I would need to get a DRW axle and move it a foot or two forward.

I saw one of these trucks with a D60 converted under those stock springs. Damn thing was a monster as it sat. Looked very cool and beefy with a solid front axle under it. I didn't check to see how he lifted the rear to level it out.

I've them 4wd with Dana 60's they sit up a little higher stock.

4wd would be nice but I think I would that behind the cummins in terms on things to do.

I imagine it's just stock 60, not a super 60

Yeah these things are beefy, I was checking out one at the junk yard and was suprised. I've always wanted one since I was a kid and my uncle had them for his business, I like the little spacer under the grill.

Thats what I was thinking

I called today no answer, I'll try again in a bit

Theres a build on pirate with a 3500hd

The small part is 9" and the big part is 11", and it's 1/4" think :eek1::thumb:

It looks like the frame is perfectly straight in the back, should be easy to move the axle then, no cutting.

Called again, he said he took it off the market and it's not for sale anymore :dunno:

Well, looks like I'm back on the hunt again, a 3500hd is probably way too overkill to just tow my suburban anyways. Although I love the way they look.

That sub is going to be heavy. I'd keep saving and get a high mileage cummins before I bought a 3500hd chevy with the 6.5.
You'll save youreself headaches in the long run, even if you have to replace/rebuild on the dodge at least it's all there and you don't have to deal with doing an engine swap down the road.
