I think I am going to install my winch behind my bumper. My questions are:

1. Can I mount the winch with the feet forward instead of down?
2. How do I/can I rotate the freespool handle so it will point down after I mount the winch.
3. Since I have my battery in the bed, can I run the power wire for my winch over to the starter? I have a 2 gauge wire running up from the red top optima. And can I run the ground to the frame if I have good connections at both ends?

Thanks guys!

Oh and another question...where can I get an owners manual for the hs9500i? Contact Warn I guess?

I know you can run it with the feet forward. I do. I have mine in a Warn Enforcer bumper. It's never let me down. I would *think* all you would have to do for the freespool lever is unbolt that end, rotate it, and bolt it back. I never fooled with mine, though. I don't know about wiring it to the starter. Warn would probably be the best place for the manual.

the manuals are on warns website in pdf..

feet forward is fine, but you may have trouble fitting with the integrated solenoids...

yes, you can clock the lever... just undo the screws and clock the end piece.. i actually took mine apart to clean and regrease.. it's just some stacked gears and a larger internal drum gear...

Hey ryoken, what about the wiring? You are a wiring guru! I test fit the winch and it fits fine the way I want it but it will be off center unless I notch the frame. Thanks!

sure, you could steal your power from the starter lug... i'd prefer to see a seperate power post over on the firewall but it'll work...

do remember tho, the amp load your going to be pulling thru your battery cable from the back when winching.... it should be STOUT for that kinda run...
