Hub bearing play

So have an 86 k5 blazer and the locking hub has alot of play on it is only about a year old wonderful if it is the locking hub or the wheel bearing or something in there
 
Auto or manual locking hubs? Brand?
Does the dial on the locking hub have play or just when you grab the wheel at the 6and 9 o’clock position and try to move it?

Its manual and the entire locking hub assembly moves when it's free and when locked not as much
 
Just the one side? Does it make any noise when you spin the tire? And again, what brand are they?
My guess is the locking hub has seen better days. Remove the little screws that hold the hub in place and have a look inside. Might find pieces.
 
Its mile marker and they probably have less than 1000 miles on them but I'll take a look inside

Just the driver side
 
Mine is doing this but it's been raining and cold so I haven't had a chance to tear into it will as soon as it is warmer
 
Obviously it shouldn’t be doing that especially with that few miles. Done any off-roading with them or driven on dry pavement with them engaged? Jack up driver’s side with the hubs engaged, lay underneath so you can see the axle shaft and spin the wheel. Shaft should rotate with the wheel. You may need to stick a screwdriver next to the axle u-joint to keep the shaft from spinning and try to spin the tire (to eliminate parasitic drag of the shaft from the equation). If the wheel spins while the shaft is jammed (due to screwdriver) then hub is bad.
 
They wiggle around a good bit sometimes. The little screws just pull the outer and inner parts together sandwiching the snapring between them. If the distance between the snapring groove and the face of the wheel hub is a little short they'll wiggle. And those hub tolerances don't seem to be real tight. Good to check it all out but if it all looks OK that's probably the case. A thicker O-ring might make it seal up a little better and wiggle less even though the wiggle doesn't really matter.
