I went to install my hubs today after putting in new races and bearings and I could not find the snap ring that goes inside the hub. I tore my gargage apart trying to find them and no dice....anybody know if there's a part number for these or how I can find new ones?

Sorry if that was a dumb question, I just didn't know if they were specific to that application. So any one wil do as long as it's smaller that the ID of the hub?

did you lose one, or both? if you only lost one, take the one from the other hub and just match it. otherwise, i doubt they're very expensive, so you could just pick up a few and try them out.

Stock Spicer hubs? D44/10 bolts?

I had a hell of a time finding them, no aftermarket manufacturer uses them that I found, and GM doesn't have them. Even Spicer dealers couldn't help me. Warn doesn't use the same things either.

Finally bought some hubs from a member here to get snap rings, although spare hubs were a bonus. :)

If you find replacements, post up part number/dealer. It would be nice to have a set you could use snap ring pliers on, if they'll fit.

ohhhhh... i was thinking the snap ring on the end of the axle shaft. i didn't even consider that annoying ring that actually fits into the hub. sorry!

Yeah, there are off a Dana 44 and I was afraid they would be hard to find. I know the ones I removed are around here somewhere......I cleaned up the hubs earlier this spring and had someone install the races, but it's been several months since I removed them and I can't remember where I put them:doah:

One of mine actually broke when I removed it, so I feel your pain. Wrecking yards used to have tons of them, when I was looking just a month or so ago, all the half tons were either auto hubs or warns. Tells you the state of our trucks in the food chain if the 70's stuff is that hard to find anymore. :(

I haven't gone to a snap-ring superstore (heh) but if they are anything like o-rings, I'm guessing there are pretty standard sizes, IF you can find someone that has access to a bunch of them.

you can't find either set?? when i bought my hubs it came with snap rings and the big rings that goes inside the hub so i had 2 sets for my application. if ya lived closer i'd just give you a set but that's not the case. sorry
