Bought new front rotors and am pounding in the studs to install the hub. I have the studs all the way in but the holes in the rotor are a tad larger than the stud so it’s not a tight fit, resulting in a little play between the rotor and hub. Is this ok?

Torque down all of the lug nuts with a wheel in place. Then remove wheel, double check. Rotor and hub should be tight.

Ok I’ll give it a shot. If it is still loose, is that an issue? Or will installing the wheels an tightening the lug nuts keep it tight

If it is still loose, it is an issue. The rotor needs to be tight. Usually pulling the stud through with the lugnut against the wheel works.

Sorry took so long for me to get back on this issue. Took your advice and mounted the hub on the spindle, tightened the spindle nuts and washer, installed a few washers on the lug and one at a time, tightened them down and torqued to about 95lbs. This pulled the studs into the back of the hub tight. Next time I replace rotors, I will know I don't have to bang the living crap out of the studs into the back of the hub. Thanks for the advice!
