any of you guys and gals thought of running hummer tires on your 16.5's I was told the standard hummer rims are 16.5x8.25 or 16.5x9.75 would these be comparable to the stock 9.50r16.5 thats running on my k30?
Hummer rims have 7 inches of back spacing and wouldn't fit without some work. You would need to run spacers to get it to work with that much backspacing.
And I believe they are 82.5" wide.. Some of the Hummer rims are 2 piece and are a double beadlock. THe outer lip unbolts and has a center ring that when you bolt the outer lip back on, sandwiches both beads to the rim.
not lookign for the rims, just the tires, the site i found www.usa6x6.com sells used hummer tires for cheap. The owner just emailed me and stated that the tires should go right on the rims i have on my truck.
Yes those tires will work great and I was goign to buy a set from Daniel also!!!!!
The stock hummer tires are 37x12.50x16.5 Goodyear MT's. They also had some 36x12.50.16.5 Goodyears, but go for the 37" MT's! The MT's are nice!!!!
talk to the people at twistedcustoms.com. they can cut and move the centers to what ever back spacing you want.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
I recommend doing a search on this site for USA6x6. Someone had several problems with getting quality tires from them. As far as the 37's they have, they suck in snow!!! My buddy had some on his burb but we took them off. I would recommend the 36" military Goodyears. They are great all-around.
Great information, totally changes my decision about buying from them, i was borderline as it was, i dont have the extra money or time to be wasting it with these guys, i appreciate you guys so damn much..
My 36" Goodyear Wrangler 2 tires are of a Hummer...they're bias-ply. Great tires, wear like iron, but are REALLY noisy, almost louder than my friends TSL's. Lugs work great, can't be beat. I get them for $40 each at a local shop here on the southside. The best wheel would be a 16.5x9.75.
I've got a buddy here in Colorado Springs who sells them for 450 for a set of 5. He also has a set of the 37s if you'd like to look at em. Just PM with your # & I'll get ahold of you.
