In your nightmares...
I have the 89 Sub w/ D44 front and 14BSF rear. I want to install Hummer Wheels. I am thinking that 3" rear spacers and 2" front spacers will work. Is this true? (the wider rear is to make the track width of the front and rear closer to the same. Asthetics ONLY)

ALSO... I will be swapping to a D60 front (SRW) and a 14BFF w/ disc converstion rear sometime during the summer. Will the same spacers work on those axles?

I think the answer to all these questions are YES, but I just wanna make sure.

Thanks.
Lee

PS Willy's... gimme a call sometime, I need to get in contact with Liam about the bumper. Do you think he still wants it?

You are correct in your suppositions. Most seem to go with the 2" spacers all around like ReadyMix though.;)

This is my DD... and my tow rig. I am really not worried about a D60 upgrade. I will do one if a D60 comes along. I already have a 14BFF Rear that I am putting disc brakes on, that will make this rig just fine for towing and sand & snow play. I really wanna run my Hummers and I don't wanna wait till I have the D60 on the front.

I am going for THE LOOK more than anything with the hummers. I have CUCV bumpers for the front and rear and I am reworking the brushguard to work with the 89 headlights.

You could join the National Guard. They would prob. let you drive a real CUCV.(on the weekends & maybe a HMMWVin the desert)

Well considering that I spent 4 years of my life as a Motor T 3521 2nd Echelon Mechanic in the USMC, and served during Desert Storm and Shield, I have had my fix of CUCV's, HMMWV's and desert.

What I want is to build the vehicle that I want to drive and do it the way that fits my budget and schedule best.

Thanks, but I will respectfully decline your suggestion.

Yeah I have noticed that... And I currently run a 1.5" spacer on the rear because I really really really like the look of the front and rear wheels being the same track width. So I was hoping to maintain that balance when I went to the Hummer Wheels. Although I must say that ReadyMix's truck looks EXCELLENT with the 2" spacers and the Hummers.

Thanks.

I could take a few more pics of the width difference if you would like them.
I can't move the truck though because the battery tray about fell out.
No power = no driving

I did think about getting 3" spacers for the rear but decided on the 2" ones for a few reasons.
- The 3" spacers cost 2 times as much as the 2" spacers do.
- If you use a 2" spacer the end of the axle flange on a SRW 14FF lines up perfectly with the center of the HMMWV rim.

The 2" spacer on the rear does look absolutely PERFECT don't it... And it would look a bit goofy with a 1" deep hole in the center of the rim. And this is about asthetics AND functionality so I am just gonna have to go with the 2" spacers. THX.

You got it. I had the exact same thoughts.....

Not at first though. I really did want the track width to be the same until Ira (Sandawgk5) told me that the 2" spacer would put it even.
So I mocked up an empty rim to simulate the 3" spacer.....it looked really goofy.

Ya I am still trying to find "that deal" on hummer rims. I was on Pirate today and it is official a TSL SX in a 42X15 and a SX2 (sx that is grooved) in a 43X16. Both will be available in 16.5, 17, and 20" rim.

I need me some H1s with some SX2s:D
