Ok, I got an opportunity to pick up some Hummer beadlock military wheels for cheap. My question are they worth the hassle of picking them up. I like the beadlock feature but I heard theres more to it than meets the eye.

I am building up a set right now. I plasma cut the centers out and have the recentering plates here to weld in. Also waiting on my rock rings to show up and am either gonna cut the runflats down or try to find some PVC the right ID to use as an insert. If you have dually axles you don't need to recenter them but there is a little work involved to making them work well. For the price you can't beat them for a double beadlock.

So you cant just bolt them up and go eh, are they not just 8 lug rims that will fit on my 3/4 ton burb, Im guessing theres much more to it than I realize.....

Type in "hummer beadlocks" in to search and then spend the next couple of days reading. I know this isn't Pirate4x4, but this has been discussed at least a hundred times

they have 7" of backspacing so you need to run spacers or wider axles to push them out. A drw dana 60 is the easiest and probably the most expensive way to do the front. For the rear a van width 14 bolt makes it a little narrower then the front or a drw dana 70 with srw 14 bolt hubs gets you to the same width as the front

Double beadlocks are way worth it.Re centering them isnt hard.

Not being able to loose an inner bead is pretty cool :pimp:

I think i'll have about $525 into mine
$150 - buying wheels
$260 - centers
$115 - rock rings

I will do all the welding myself (prob 2" stitch welds on centers?) and am in process of cutting down the magnesium run flats as of tonight.

Can't buy a set for that or hardly get staun/innerairlocks.

Ok I bought them. 50 dollars a piece, the bonus?, like new, 95% tread military Goodyear Wrangler MT's 37x12.50x16.5's on everyone of the rims. A guy here has a semi full of them off military hummers

I saw that ad on Craigslist. I've been thinking about checking with him. Whereabouts in town is he?

is it the guy selling tires on the 14th or 15th of Jan?

Check yesterday's ad that starts with 37" military tires cheap....I think that's the one, but I could be wrong.

yeh, had my dates wrong....have you looked at these rims?
