Humvee axles

After the not-so-warm response from another site, I'll ask it here. Does anyone know how makes the axles for the Humvee's?

Uhh ... note that the M998 family has independent suspension front AND rear, so they're more like half shafts or CV's than the regular straight axles.

You can get them at your local parts place.

Or do you mean the portal gear boxes on the ends?

I know there are several types of cv shafts but I've heard one of them is the same as a ford taurus.

I'm looking to find out who make the differential as in so that I can find out if they make something in the class 8 truck realm.

:haha:

The diff is, as mentioned, an AMC 20 ... basic light-duty Jeep stuff. It can get away with it 'cuz there's a 2:1 gear reduction at the hubs.

Methinks you're barking up the wrong tree if you're after heavy duty drivetrain stuff -- look to Rockwell axles, f'rinstance.
