It took a new ballast resistor behind the dash and a new fuel tank float but it is finally working. I found a new brass float at a Ford dealer (go figure). The new ballast resistor came from "fix-a-gauge".

Good deal.

Mine has been "pegged" since I bought it. I thought it was just the fact that the wiring was unplugged and ungrounded but when I reterminated the connector to the sending unit and replaced the grounding wire I found that it still did not work.

I have yet to tackle that gremlin, there are so many with my truck right now that I have to pick my battles carefully.
