ive been talking about getting a manual valve body 700r and i got the shifter from my buddy, theres a switch on it with 4 male spades, it says its a reverse light and neutral safety switch. what exactly is the neutral safety switch? is it just another light that comes on when its in neutral? or can it somehow keep me out of neutral when driving? im trying to learn as much as i can about this thing before i put it in. thanks guys. o ya,what spades r for the reverse lights to turn on when i put it in reverse?

The neutral safety switch keeps you from starting the engine unless the trans is in park or neutral.

just put a meter to the spades, move the switch and do a continuity test... bet you could find a pdf online somewhere with install instructions..

on a sidenote, I always loved that shifter, had it in all my hotrods.. it used to be a Mr Gasket product back in the day.. better than any B&M imo...

ooo awesome, somehow i didnt think of doing a continuity test... i think im gonna ignore the neutral switch and just hook up the reverse switch to some flood lights so i dont mess with the stock wiring in the colum incase i go back to a full auto tranny. thanks guys! ill post some pics up when i get it all set up this week.
