I'm having a moment of weakness, I saw this Husky box at my Home Depot and was very impressed with it in person, it checks all of my boxes, large top drawer, deeper than avg, work bench top (no top box or hutch for me), and not red. Does anyone have experience with this box or can recommend something better that's under $800? I'm not committed to the purchase what I have works, I could use the extra space but being that I'm 5yrs out of the profession I can't justify the money on a Snap-on.

for weekend warrior duty most boxes like that work great.. not like your going in/out of the drawers all day long at a dealership or something..

my KRL is just stooopidly overkill for down in the LAB™.....

I have a free 3 piece craftsman box at home but a matco triple bay 6s at work with hutch.

I wrench out of this one with the harbor freight 150 dollar roll cart. A handful of my techs fulltime wrench with a husky main box and HF carts.

My only complaint is the large drawers need to be pushed in at the middle. They will walk side to side and start to go in crooked if pushed in at the edges. Other than that it is a superb weekend box. Probably last for decades.

Now I would buy this one

That 72" box is very tempting, it's just a little overkill for my garage, even this 60" box I'm looking at now is, however if I were to bring my stuff home and have a place to wrench at the house it would motivate me to work harder on my off time and clear off my extensive to do list!

Ryoken has the right idea, snapon boxes make me drool, I always wanted a yellow one however I am glad I didn't spend the money on one!

I would love to! But then there goes the Blazer budget for the next 6months to a year! I have to keep this reasonable or pass and continue working out of my 3 tier Craftsman box that's so tall even my 6'0 self can't see what's in the top! (Can't complain about it, it's served me since 2009 and 4 of those years were professional!)

the only reason I have the KRL at home is I have no shop at work anymore.... and I'm red cuz I bought the roll cab so long ago, they only had a few colors.... today, I'd do the chevy orange...

I’ve got a husky top chest. It’s been a good box for the $$ in the 4 years I’ve had it.

I did almost buy the exact match to what you posted this fall. It just didn’t quite meet what I wanted so I built my own little roller cart.

@obijuank5 was on to something here, this is the one I bought and here is why. It has 4 drawers with double slides. I looked at different models and was surprised that one would have double slides and the other would have singles on the same size drawer. I special ordered this guy and waited over a week for it but it was worth it. This box is NICE! The only complaint I have is the drawers try to close if you leave them open, it may be an unlevel surface on my part. :dunno: Either way you can’t beat it for a grand, I’m very glad I waited and got this one over the one I originally picked out, I have never had so much room and it’s awesome, I’m quite the fan of this box so far.

:zombie18: This thread back from the dead.
