Just finished installing new brake system. Looking forward to the extra stopping power. Looks good too. :woot:

Looks like you went with an equal-sized reservoir, so I'm presuming it's disc-disc?

I'd be obliged if you could post details on the rest of the system, i.e. combo valve (stock? changed?), part # for the master, and whatever else you did.

The only hydroboost conversion I've done was on a disc/drum truck, going from vacuum, using all stock parts, and I'm starting to do my Blazer which is disc/disc, etc.

I just spent the big bucks and bought the whole system as a kit. I have the big drums on a 14 bolt full floater in back right now. Most likely converting to disc later. The reservoir is not equal. Smaller in back. 1 1/8 inch bore on the master.

After I replace the stainless line I smoked by letting it fall on my battery I'll report how it works. That must be why the instructions said disconnect the battery "before" working on it.:eek1: duh........

Looks like the Hydratech kit?

Unless you wallow in the mud daily or something where you absolutely cannot have drums, I'd highly recommend sticking with them. The disc conversions aren't all they're cracked up to be, especially w.r.t. the parking brake, and the 13" drums, if kept up, have good stopping power.

Yes sir,

It is the Hydratech set up. Thanks for the advice on the rear brakes. Those big drums do stop well. Almost too good.

Don't fix what ain't broke. On my big honkin' crewcab dually I spent years on and off dinking with disc, and ended up reverting to the drums. 'Course on a dually you get the even wider drums, but just the SRW 13" drums are plenty, IMO.

Well, the Hydraboost is installed and functioning. What a difference! I have a truck that will stop when I want it to now. :woot:

So when you buy one of the aftermarket kits, do you still have to get a brake pedal out of an old diesel?

Oh, and looks awesome, man!:thumb:
