Hydraulic clutch fork questions

I am converting to manual and have a complete 86' setup from a 1 ton. I have done a manual transmission conversion before but it was with a manual clutch. I am not sure how the clutch fork is held back against the slave cylinder to keep it from wearing out the throw-out bearing when the pedal is not depressed. My manual setup had a spring pulling the fork to make sure that the bearing was not riding the clutch when disengaged. I cant find any holes or places on the clutch fork to put a spring. I also have searched for diagrams or drawings to see if I was missing parts. Coming up blank on the search. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

I just did that swap in December. I'm not sure what to tell you, but none of the hydraulic clutch trucks I've worked on had return springs. My linkage always gets noticeably loose when the hydraulics release, I'm not worried about it wearing out the throw out bearing or the clutch. If anything, I'm worried that it will get too loose and the rod will fall out. Not much chance of that happening, but it doesn't seem to be dragging any.

Cool, thanks for the info. I was looking for someone who actually had one and what they thought of it.

Pulled my "stock" (Luchs brand) hydraulic clutch stuff at about 15 years of use, and there was no problem with the throwout bearing. No spring or anything as mentioned.

Not sure if the spring clip on the clutch fork forces it rearward at all when the clutch is not depressed.

Thanks a bunch for that info. One quick question, the master cylinder has the mounting bracket at an angle, is it designed to be mounted with the front of the master pointing downward or is the firewall mounting location on a stock pickup such that it mounts the cylinder level? If anyone has pics of their master cylinder mounted on their trucks I would love to see them. Thanks.

It points downward. Look through the later pages of my Blazer thread for pictures of my setup.

Thanks. I found the pics you were talking about on your build thread and they answered my questions.
