Does anybory out there have a full hydro (not hydro assist) steering set up on a dana 60? If so do have some pics and maybe a little write up on how you did it, but just on a dana 60 not rockwell. THANKS for any help.:D

Can't help you yet, but I'm making the change over to full hydro on mine, had planned on running assist but changed my mind. I'm either going to go with a POS or PSC or Rockstomper set up since their kits are properly tuned & don't want to take any chances of putting others in danger...check out pirate, that'd probably be more helpful.

slight hijack...

when you go to full hydro, are you left with no steering at all when the engine is not running?

that was my preconceived notion. i read alot of people saying that once your full hydro went out, that was the end of your day. however, I've been reading on pirate recently that that's crap. so who knows? maybe some of the actual full hydro gurus could pitch in.....

Yeah but if you're engine isn't running how much more wheelin' are you really going to do for the rest of the day? All downhill? ;)

if you get the correct steering valve, you can still steer while the engine is off. i have started to look into full hydro, but may just go with assit.

yea but if you're broken and your only option is to winch, it's a lot easier to winch and steer than just winch.....

exactly what i was getting at. if i hadn't been able to steer on saturday, i would have been SOL while being winched up (blew out more u-joints at one time than i had spares).
