My choice is a PTO winch... mainly because it was free.
PTO shaft driven off of the transfer case. 4 speeds foward and 4 in reverse in each range.
Of course high range would be the one to use under most circumstances.
The only real draw back is if the engine dies.
Jst make sure that the engine is gonna keep running and ya should be good to go.
Running a snorkle would be a good idea in any case.
