Ok there is a local yard that has used hydraulics. I was curious... what do I need?
If all goes good I could buy more for other people.. they are selling the rams for $18-$40 each.... used and as is... but one looks to be 1.5"x8" and has those circle ends (HEIMS I assume). I do not know anything about this stuff and if I can figure out what to look for then maybe I can also hookup others with the rams for cost plus shipping.... I am going there Monday....

How do I tell what throw it is.. do I just measure the length of the outer casing?

Ok also this is confusing me... if you have mechanical steering to which we all do.... and you add a hydro assist.. how does the hydro not push or pull against the mechanical? Does the hydro just "follow" the mechanical but when tightness is encountered it just adjusts that out???
any help greatly appreciated...

Not sure on the length you need I think 8" sounds about right. Hydro works in conjunction with your mech steering. They do not interfere because you tap the steering box and pressure is only applied to the ram when you are moving the wheel :xmas:
