Well, I've been out of the game for a while. Truck has been sitting for over a year! We had our second son and just had a lot going on. I helped a friend rebuild some axles a couple weekends ago and it lit the fire under my arse. I bought everything for hydro assist over a year ago and am now ready to install. The ram I bought has different mounting ends on each side.

My question is, should I cut and turn the left side and mount it like everyone else does ( parallel to the axle and tierod) or cut and turn the right end and try to get it above the axle, out of the way. My main concern is the heat from the welding that close to the ram if I cut the left side. What is everyone's opinion on this? I didn't notice the ends when I bought it, but now I'm stuck with it.:doah:

The right side you can just turn it by hand.

I have the same ram. I had Kert at Diy4x cut and turn it for me. It can be done with no problems. Just do it when the ram is extended.

Wow!! I feel like an idiot. Went out to the garage and turned it by hand, I've been sitting here trying to figure out how to mount it for about an hour.:doah:.
Well, I feel a little better about now:rolleyes:

Here is a pic of the "above axle" route. Is there any problems with doing it this way?
