can you run hydraulic rear steering in a truck with a regular steering setup in the front, like cross over steering. is this possible

ya dont see why not. its just seperate controls for rear steering system.

most guys just do a toggle switch on the unit to have momentary power when you hold it left or right. and let go it always drops back to nutral off position. this is so you dont burn stuff up .

and if on the road driving planed for this rig . best to put a lock out pin kit on the steering to keep the tires stright on the road. and when installed a master power switch for power to the pump so you dont by chance bend/brak anything if powered up.

yea i was thinking putting a lock in the rear so it would be somewhat safe for road use.

how would you run it thow, dont you have to have a orbital valve for rear steer or is it just like plumb the lines to the back from the pump and have them run threw like a joy stick to control the travel of the fluid to turn from side to side.

toggle switches to control relay for main power for pump and at same time open electric flow valves.

so when you want left toggle left and it turns on pump and opens valve. let go its all off and shut .

lots of ways to do it. if you watch monstor trucks its a toggle switch for rear steering. and second switch to flip from std steering to reverse steering.

ahhh ok, i was just thinking of maybe doin a s-10 rear steer setup and selling it to someone who thinks its awsome. throw some full width dana 44's in it and rear steer it just as a learner project. idk maybe im crazy lol but sounds fun

If you do rear steer keep the two systems seperate. I would look into the electric pump units like monstertrucks run.

electric snow plow pump aftermarket units work good. 1800-2000 psi spec setup. power left and right with crossover flow in them for the return fluid from each way.

this might just be a idea also.
