A craigslist link (I would say it will come down quick, but I think not at $1800 lol) but a hydraulic setup A833 for a GM truck?

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/pts/4403885357.html

Bellhousing looks to be the same as the 465, and I can't imagine someone would try to pawn a mismatched trans/bellhousing off, but I could have sworn the A833 was gone by 1985?

The story is utter BS, but I don't know enough about the 833 to know if the 465 bellhousing will fit it...I assume yes but no shot of the face of the trans.

Edit: from another pic of a 465 hydraulic bellhousing I found, the "plugs" in the bellhousing for the unused bolt holes seem to be in a different location as those shown on the craigslist ad.

Appears to be the real McCoy...

In the specs article here it shows '87 as the first year there was only one manual tranny option, 86 and older you could get the SM 465 or SM318/SM326/SM330/T-89A/T-150 3 spd. (2.47-3.50:1 First Gear)

What code GM used for the A833 OD 4 speed I don't know though.

The bell in the ad does look specific to the A-833.

If nothing else the truck itself would have been pretty rare then! Not particularly desirable I suppose, but nonetheless interesting.
