Which hose on the box puts out pressure when steering left, and what side of the ram does it go to?

I have the JKW box end cap and I tapped my top cap.
And if Ira would stop screening my calls I would already have the answer:haha:

Fordeater......I will call you as soon as I can get my ass out of my truck

yes, tell us,..i have wondered this myself, as i plan on doing this, this summer.

where is this jkw end cap? can you use the stock endcap, weld a 1 1/2'' x 1 1/2'' x 3/8'' piece on the cap and tap thru the piece you welded to the original cap?

i have another question, but will start a new thread, so this thread stays on tapping your box and which tapped hole goes where.

I have the answer. I found this thread this weekend when I was looking for the answer but had no luck. :doah: Now I know the correct way. In the Navy we called it 50/50-90. When you have a 50/50 chance of picking the right one, 90% of the time you'll pick the wrong one - which I did the first time of course. :screwy: :haha:

The line from the end cap goes to the fitting closest to the rod end (the end that extends) and the fitting off the sector shaft cap goes to the fixed end of the ram.

The above is assuming the ram extends in the driver side direction.

Actually the answer can't be known unless you know which direction the ram is mounted. If the ram body is mounted near the center of the rig the hose routing is different than if the ram body is mounted near the driver side knuckle.

If I knew whether fluid comes out the end or the top cap when turning right, I could easily figure it out by looking at the ram. It sounds like fluid comes out the end cap of the box when turning right. Correct?

unless someones ram is mounted the opposite direction as yours. :doah:

I also hooked mine up wrong the first time. and I couldn't tell you which way is right without looking at my truck because once it was hooked up right I haven't touched it.

quick hijack because its kinda on topic...would a 6 inch ram work on a D60 or would it have to be the 8 inch?

I have high steer..so you think it wont shorten my turning radius with high steer then ? I knew it would work but the radius thing was what I was worried about

hey if you could post sum picks, maybe even step by step pics that would be awsome. i wanna do the same

Okay well my ram is mounted so that it pushes to the drivers side. So if it pushes to the passenger side, hose routing would be the opposite.

I don't know why, but it seems like mounting it to push to the passenger side would be difficult - with the possible exception of a high steer type setup. I would think you'd have trouble with the mounting tabs on the tie rod hitting the diff cover when you turned right, but maybe there's room.
