Hey guys I finally got around to installing my hydro assist last night. I bleed the system by turning the wheels lock to lock about 50 or so times. I got all the air out of the system, but I am not experiencing this 1 finger steering wheel turn everyone is talking about.

It seems when I get to full lock is the only time the ram kicks in??

What am I doing wrong? I drove the rig home from my friends house last night and did like how it stiffened up the sloppy steering.

Do I just need to mod the pump or what?

Thanks

Mine is the same way, you'll need to mod the pump. I've yet to mod my pump but i've gotten used to how it is and i may just leave it alone. I just like the fact that i no longer have DW.

"one finger steering" is mostly a product of flow. With a stock pump, hydroboost, restrictive hoses and fittings, or other restrictions in the system, you will build heat and limit flow. Modding the factory pump will help a lot. If you haven't already done it, add a steering cooler. A small (5x11) transmission cooler works well. Route it into the return line going back to the reservoir.

Jusr for reference, and so i don't have to search which mod needs to be done in order to help the flow for 1 finger steering?

Yes, i'm a lazy bastard these days.
