Hydro assist Question

What gear box do I need to get for hydro assist? I hear a Chevy 2wd box will work. If that is true, I need to know what model and what year to look for. I have a box off of a 1983 CJ7 that is already setup for assist. If I can’t use it on my 1988 k5, then I’ll sell it.

if you are going to run crossover steering you need a 2wd chevy box from a simmilar year. that wat it will use the same o-ring style lines you have on your truck. if you go older it will use flared lines. any other type box would require fabbing up some sort of way to bolt it to your frame. why would you want to spend trime & money doing that if something out there is readily available.
