Went High Steer with the Dana 60 and bought a bunch of hydro assist stuff from the surplus center. Have 56 front springs so the axle is forward 2". The tie rod is almost touching the draglink with the ORD arms so the tube clamp that I wanted to use for the tie rod mount won't work. Since I also ordered the wrong ram for high steer (8" throw) I was thinking about mounting one end to the stock tie rod location on the drivers side where it would work. I ordered a tie rod stud from BC broncos but after more reading it looks to be a little different from what I need.

The taper on it is 7* 1.5" per foot
The GM dana 60 taper from what I understand is 7.13* 1.5" per foot

Is there such thing as a 7.13* 1.5" per foot tapered stud?

1.5"/foot is always 1.5"/foot.
7 degrees is only an approximation, 1.5"/foot equals more like 7.15 degrees.
You can also call it a 1:8 ratio.

What pitman arm do you use?
Maybe you could get a shorter one, to increase the clearance between the drag-link and tie-rod.
It's sounds like a compromise to mount the ram down there, when you already have hi-steer.
I would try to sell the 8" ram and buy a shorter one.
Or sell the ORD steering arms and get a pair for reverse hi-steer.

You could probably use the 8" ram also as long as the diameter of it gives you the desired strength/speed ratio.
A larger diameter is desired if you attach it to a shorter arm, (like your ORD arms)

Some guys on pirate say an 8" will work for high steer and the factory bump stops will limit it. I know that's not the proper way (limiting spacers or a different ram is) but if it works it works. Welcome to CK5 by the way Fred, my family is from Finland, I'm 1st generation American.:usaflag:

Thanks for the welcoming!

Btw what pitman arm are you running, is it the superlift 1104?

Yup, 1104
WFO concepts draglink
ORD high steer arms
Homemade 1.5" .250 wall high steer tie rod
2WD steering box JKW front cap and tapped top cap
8" stroke Surplus Ram
48" long 3/8" lines

I think the draglink/tierod rub is a common problem when using the 1104 arm on a relocated axle with high steer.
I haven't finished my cross-over yet, so I can't say for sure, but I'm going with a Jeep TJ/YJ pitman arm (with the index tabs grinded down) which is 5.5" long and have a 2.5" drop.

But this doesn't work on all steering arms, some of the longer ones could require the 1104.
