First I searched and found one place some said they wished they had used the heim joint style otherwise nothing. I ordered all the parts many moons ago and now I am just finally puttin the "$100" surplus center hydro assist steering on. I have the original pin mount style cylinder. Should I get the heim joint style?

Why? I just set my tabs to match the caster and there is no binding and no noise. :pimp:

so you matched it to the spring angle? I am still a bit of a noob at is. I figured I could just make tabs on the front cover or buy Diy4xs mount and then add tabs to my 3/8th wall tierod.

I just eyeballed it, but yes I mounted the tabs so they are angled slightly to match the caster of the knuckles. I figured the pins would be noisy because the holes are not a machine fit. I was looking at doing some thin bronze bushings, but turns out they arent needed at all.
